Big Mound: settler destruction as historic preservation

I’ve been  working on the destruction of Big Mound for a while and I’m very happy to publish this essay in a special issue of The Journal of Architecture edited by Jason Nguyen and Elizabeth Petcu, titled Unmaking Architecture. Thanks to the editors, to the Osage Nation for being in conversation, to the </3 reading group, and to Mark Jarzombek for first pointing out this case study to me. Thanks also to the Decolonizing Pedagogies Workshop for engaged colearning and to audiences at CAA, Oregon, and Sci Arc whose feedback improved this text.
